WORKSHOP: COMIC TAKEOVER DAY, The National Centre for Children’s Books, October 2017
In October I delivered a workshop at Seven Stories, The National Centre for Children’s Books in Newcastle. It was part of a Comic Takeover Day to accompany their exhibition Comics: Explore and Create Comic Art. The day was curated by Lydia Wysocki and presented as part of Juice – NewcastleGateshead’s award-winning festival for children and young people.
I was invited alongside other comics artists to deliver a workshop. It was in Level 1 in the Studio where volunteers from Team Juice helped out and also ran workshops. I was asked to do something for all ages so we illustrated part of the Iron Man by Ted Hughes as a collective comic. Each participant drew a panel and many adults had a go as well as children. Thank you to all those that took part.
