2 Reviews of Poem from a bus shelter

April 24, 2015

I am new to books. My illustrated version of  Clare Shaw’s Poem from a bus shelter (poem originally published in Straight Ahead, Bloodaxe, 2006) was my first mini book. I am still learning the process but was delighted to find that people take the trouble to review them.

There have been two main reviews of Poem from a bus shelter both of which have been really thought provoking. I have enjoyed the praise and have been reading between the lines to help inform future comics. I am especially interested in finding out what people think about illustrating a poem in this way. Hence it was really interesting to hear what these two reviewers from the comics world said about it and this will be interesting to compare with future reviews  from the poetry world.

You can read the reviews in the following places:

The first by Richard Bruton on the Forbidden Planet blog

The second by Andy Oliver on Broken Frontier blog

Thank-you so much for taking the trouble to review the book guys – much appreciated.
