Seeing Poetry had a tables at both PAGES Leeds | International Contemporary Artists’ Book Fair The Tetley, Leeds, 6-8th 7/8th March 2015 and to Sheffield Zine Fest 2015. I was selling the two mini books Poem from a bus shelter and You’d start with the page. (see Events sections for full details)
These was really fun to do as previously only shown the books at comics events. I was not sure how the books would be received as they are not quite artist books and not quite zines.
I was really pleased that at both events they went down really well. It seemed to be that as they were ‘different’ to those around they were noticed. At both events the footfall was much less than comics events. However visitors stayed a long time at the event and at each stall. Great conversations!
Again I was pleased to have the little sketch books as well as they drew more people to the stall and hence even more conversations.
